| Very good. Easy to assemble and the BIGGIE is that our dog actually uses it! We keep this one on our deck in the shade. The cover is tough and has a definite texture that she loves to rub and roll against. |
Just not for Bob

| The Coolaroo bed is just as described. I think it's great. Alas, our dog, Bob, doesn't care for it. Bob weighs about 65 pounds, a shepherd mix, and the bed is plenty large for him. We live in south Florida and he is an indoor dog. He has several beds, including ours, and frequently sleeps on the tile floor under a ceiling fan. I'm sure that's nice and cool. So I thought he'd enjoy the Coolaroo. But he doesn't use it. I don't think it is due to any problem or flaw with the product. In fact, I think most dogs would love it. But Bob is Bob. He knows what he likes and at age 11 I don't think he is about to change his habits. So I give it a thumbs up and Bob's not talking. I have seen similar beds in animal shelters and the dogs seem to love them. The Coolaroo is very reasonably priced. The "industrial model" used in shelters is considerably more expensive, but for home use I think the Coolaroo is perfect. Do they make it my size; I'd sleep on it. |
Best Dog Bed Ever

We have one of these in large and it's been through three dogs and two cats. It's still going strong and they love it. We got this one for our second dog and she's very happy with it. Both dogs can even share it if they curl up. They are about 35 lbs. each and it's roomy for one, cozy for the two. It's not too hot in warm weather and you can wash it with a hose. In winter we just throw a small piece of fleece on it and everyone is warm and cozy up off the floors. A great value and long lasting. The puppy even chewed a small bit but didn't destroy it. It assembles and comes apart easily although the first time it's stiff. If needed you can even get replacements for the fabric part.
Highly recommended by all our gang. |
Great for older dogs.

I got this in Med for my 11 year old AmStaf terrier. He is having a difficult time getting up and down now so I got this for him to sleep on. It only took some encouragement for him to get on it. First night on it he slept through the whole night, a first in a while. I know this was made for outside but I figured it would work in the house. I may be back for another for outside, he has likes to sleep on my patio furniture, so having a bed for himself would be a much better option for me!
It was a snap to put together too, taking about 5 min. tops to screw the bolts in. All that was needed was a screw driver. We are all happy. |
Tug's Favorite Spot

| Bought this for Tug - our 11 year old Chesapeake male. He is an outside dog and in the summer in Nashville that gets hot. The bed is sturdy and simple to assemble. We place a fan on the ground pointed at the bed and with the elevated mesh, Tug gets circulation all around. The bed is just the right height for him to get in and get out. That is important as he is moving a lot slower now due to his age. Very happy with this purchase. |
Good for dogs who chew

| My pup LOVES a bed with stuffing and this one has held up because there is nothing to chew! I will say that the dogs haven't taken to it like a stuffed dog bed, but when they do get on there they sleep peacefully. Easy to assemble. Durable. The medium is more than enough for my 40 lb beagle/pit mix and a mini golden retriever mutt to lay on together. Will purchase again. |
Great, if you dogs will use it.

| I love the idea of this thing. They are easy to vacuum under and do seem to keep the dogs cool. But 2 of our dogs won't get on without a sheet. I'm not sure why, but they really seem to notice. The other dogs, don't mind and sleep on them with or without a sheet. They are a little tough to put together, but nothing hard if you have some strength. That said, if you dogs will use it, I can't recommend it more highly. |

| dog bed was easy to assemble and our huge greatdane loves it! I will be buying another one.....Can use for indoors and outdoors. for the cooler weather our dog uses it with another material encased dog bed on top, and in the hot weather sits right on it in the shade with the air flow keeping him cool underneath....great invention. |

| Took 3 people to put together. It also bends strangly when you pick it up but you can twist it back. My dog sometimes uses it, moreso when theres a blanket on it the surface is hard, I thought it would have more slack, and its scratchy. It's nice to have because we have a deck, but he almost always chooses the ground next to us. He does like to eat off of it and enjoy a chewy. Overall good product would be great if he used it more. |

| I recently purchased two of the medium beds, they are easy to assemble and very durable and hold up well in all kinds of weather. We have owned one of these beds for probably 10 years and it is still in great shape and has been thru 2 dogs,,, since we have 3 dogs we decided to treat them to this great product,,, it is well worth the money! |

I love love love this pet bed. My mother had given me one her dog didn't use, and I decided I needed another.
I have one 35-lb. dog and two 60-lb. dogs. The two larger dogs can actually both fit on the bed at the same time, but they don't typically choose to do that.
I had asked my mom for hers because we have an unfinished basement in which our dogs spend a good deal of time. They're able to exit the basement to the backyard, but if it's too cold or too hot to be outside, they prefer the basement.
The bad part is that the basement partially floods when it rains heavily. This bed is a great way for them to get off the hard concrete and stay out of the water.
During the winter, I put fluffy pet beds on top of it to keep them warm. During the summer, they can cool off on the bed itself. The basement floor is cool, but both of my bigger dogs are getting older, and they get uncomfortable and stiff when they sleep on really hard surfaces for too long. Also, one of them has arthritis and hip dysplasia, and I hate the thought of her sleeping on concrete.
The reason I got the second bed is that our little dog doesn't really have anywhere to lounge in our front yard. To stay out of the sun, she'd have to lie on the concrete of the front porch. She REFUSED to sleep in a crate with bedding in it and the door open (despite the fact that she's crated indoors at night), so I was very happy to see the outlines of dusty paw prints on the Coolaroo.
Anyway, these beds are durable, comfortable, versatile, easy to clean, and GREAT for pets.
Putting them together: the directions, in an effort to be multinational, have no written instructions. Thanks to the other reviewers for recommendations, which make setup a snap: put the bolts in but do not tighten them fully until all the sides are put together. Once you've got all bolts in, then tighten them one by one.
I saw something in one of the descriptions that said this is collapsible: not true. It is relatively easy to take apart and put together, but it's not foldable or anything. |

| I am so happy that my mom got this bed for me, it was easy for her to assemble and light weight to move around. My Cool-A-Roo is cool and comfy for me to lounge in and sleep. She may have to get me another one for outside. |
Fantastic bed

This bed has also doubled as a trampoline for Remy, my St. Bernard/Catahoula mix. Remy likes to get a running start and jump/slide up onto the bed. It's actually quite hilarious but the first time I saw him do it I thought to myself, "Well, this bed is not going to last long." I was wrong though. I've had the bed for over six months, Remy is now slightly over 80 pounds, and The Coolaroo is still in great shape. The nice part is, is that if the bed does wear out, I only have to replace the fabric without having to purchase an entire new bed. You really can't go wrong for the price. I do recommend though, that you have a helper when you put it together because the tension created between the support bars and fabric makes it difficult to line everything up if you're by yourself. I hope that made sense. I was able to assemble it solo, but it would have been much easier with a second set of hands.
I've uploaded a photo of Remy having a nice nap.
I highly recommend this product as it has proven to be very durable and both my dogs spend a lot of time lounging and sleeping on it. |
